No Spin Sunday: Your Week in Politics, Pop Culture, Bravo, and Bullsh*t
Sunday, March 30, 2025 Edition
Hey friends —
Welcome to the FIRST No Spin Sunday, your weekly digest cutting through the noise to bring you the real tea on Politics, Pop Culture, Bravo, and everything in between.
Let’s dive in.
Politics: The Girls Are Fighting (and Congress Might Ban TikTok, again)
The Looming TikTok Ban
Here’s the deal: Congress passed a bill that would ban TikTok unless ByteDance (its parent company) sells it off. Is this about privacy? China? Or silencing the most politically active youth platform in America? The answer is yes — to all of it.
What’s different this time? Instead of pulling a Trump-style executive order, Congress is trying to go the actual legislative route. And while lawmakers are pushing for action, some are now urging Trump to stop making it worse by stirring confusion about the deadline, which is April 5. It’s giving chaos, not clarity.
The Group Chat That May or May Not Be a Crime
I don’t know if you’ve heard—but a bunch of top ranking officials got busted coordinating and executing a strike on Yemen via-group chat that they ACCIDENTALLY ADDED A REPORTER TO.
And we’ve officially entered the “deflect and deny” phase of the Signal chat fallout. This week’s congressional hearings revealed key players dodging questions about their involvement in a private messaging thread discussing military actions in Yemen. Trump, of course, made it about Biden (???), and actual accountability is still nowhere to be found. *eye roll*
Greenland Is… Up For Grabs?
Apparently, we’re trying to annex glaciers now? JD Vance and his wife, Usha, popped into Greenland this week and implied that the U.S. might be a better fit for the island than Denmark.
It’s giving: Cold War reboot with a side of influencer vacation energy. Does this have any real context or purpose? Not really — unless the context is “weird optics.”
Bravo: Southern Charm, Beverly Hills Meltdowns & The Valley Rising
Paige + Craig: A Full Breakdown
So, Paige called off the engagement at the end of 2024 — and since then, it’s been pure Bravo he-said/she-said. Paige made it clear she’s focused on her booming career. Craig? He’s giving classic Craig: feeling “neglected,” throwing out quotes on WWHL like “she told me to keep the ring for BravoCon.” Paige, understandably, is like… what?
It’s giving delusion in a linen button-down. We’ll break the full timeline this coming week.
RHOBH Reunion Incoming: Well That Was a Fun Season!
Hot take: I actually loved this season. Boz was fresh, the energy was better, and while Kyle kept it guarded, Garcelle gave messiness (gaaaaah she’ll be missed). But Sutton? She needs to “let the mouse go.” Erika said it best — Sutton talks about empowering women, but consistently kicks them when they’re down. At this point, it’s a pattern.
The Valley Is Coming. I’m Ready.
The Valley premieres Tuesday, April 15th and I’m READY. Reality stars. LA mid-life crises. JAX + BRIT. A cast who knows how to stay in a group text and throw hands.
Stay tuned for my pre-premiere debrief.
Fashion: The Industry Is Shaking
So Many Shakeups, So Little Stability
The fashion house shuffle is wild right now. Creative directors are dropping + moving + shaking, and it feels like no one wants to sit at the cool table anymore. Demna’s move from Balenciaga to Gucci shook the girlies — and not just because of the brand shift.
So for those who gave me grief for carrying pre-Demna Balenciaga… are you ditching your Gucci now?
No. It just means we need to understand what makes vintage valuable — and not assign morality based on designers you didn’t even know three seasons ago.
Vintage vs Fast Fashion — The Ongoing War
Speaking of vintage: People are trying to shop smarter, but Shein’s still everywhere, and influencers are tagging “vintage” on old Zara like it’s 1970-90s. Vintage doesn’t mean dressing fully like the decade. *palm to face*. We need to dig into what exactly Vintage is and what it looks like.
Pop Culture: Meghan Deserves Peace + The Blake PR Machine
Meghan Markle’s Show + New Podcast Deal
Meghan Markle has a new podcast coming — and predictably, the internet can’t handle it. Why? Because she exists. The show, under Lemonada Media, promises more authenticity and less noise — but of course, the haters are loud. Let the woman speak. The obsession with hating her is honestly embarrassing at this point.
Justin Baldoni vs Blake Lively: Can We Let It Go?
Yes, the allegations are serious. Blake’s lawsuit against Baldoni includes claims of sexual harassment — and that should never be trivialized. But the rollout? The PR spin? The relentless headlines? Something feels off.
It’s important we don’t turn serious accusations into tabloid fodder — especially when real people are watching and learning how to respond to real trauma.
TikTok: The Hailey Bieber Series That Won’t Die
Did Hailey Really Manifest Justin? Or Just… Move Strategically?
There’s a 7-part TikTok deep dive floating around that outlines how Hailey Bieber “manifested” Justin from childhood crush to husband. It’s compelling, well-edited, and dripping in parasocial energy — but it also raises a bigger question: Why do we need women to be either scheming witches or innocent waifs?
Let’s talk about it this week — the TikTok itself, the editing, the media response, and our obsession with turning strategic women into villains (???).
That’s your week — unspun + unpacked
Back tomorrow with Monday’s breakdown of Gen Z’s political pivot and what it means long-term.
